PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent soft resin foam heat insulating materials from being suspended when the heat insulating structure of a horizontal part including a floor is formed. SOLUTION: The foam heat insulating materials A to D are so formed that their lateral center parts are formed in a chevron projected shape continuously with each other in the longitudinal direction. The chevron-shaped top parts 1 thereof are positioned slightly higher a line 5 connecting the lateral both ends 2a and 2b to each other. The foam heat insulating materials C and D are tapered so that the lengths thereof between both end parts of the lower surfaces 3 and 6 thereof are longer than the length thereof between both end parts of the upper surface 2 thereof. In the method of installing the heat insulating material, the foam heat insulating material A is fitted between bed materials 10 disposed in a horizontal plane, the chevron-shaped top parts 1 thereof are pressed so as to be roughly horizontal, and a horizontal surface material 12 is placed thereon.
