PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for checking the glued state of an envelope paper pattern by using optical sensors. SOLUTION: The device for checking a glued part of an envelope which checks the glued state of a bag making machine has at least a paper feeding section, a glueing section, a first conveying section, and a second conveying section. In the glueing section, the plurality of envelope paper patterns successively fed from the paper feeding section are superposed on each other and conveyed with their flap portions exposed to the outside, and then the flap portions exposed to the outside are coated with the paste, followed by delivering the paper patterns to the first conveying section which is operated at a speed almost the same as that of the glueing section. The second conveying section is operated at a conveying speed faster than that of the first conveying section, and forms the individually separate envelope paper patterns which are coated with the paste by the glueing section. According to the device for checking a glued part of an envelope, in a time interval between detection of a paper edge of the envelope paper pattern and detection of a paper edge of the subsequent envelope paper pattern by the second sensor fixed to a predetermined location of the second conveying section, the first sensor fixed to a predetermined location of the first conveying section checks the state of glueing of the paste to the envelope paper pattern.
