PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bookbinding device dispensing with milling by securing the positional accuracy of a sheet bundle and an adhesive applying portion in a simple construction. SOLUTION: The bookbinding device has an accumulating portion 42 for accumulating sheets to be bound to make a sheet bundle, a bundle transferring mechanism for transferring the accumulated sheet bundle to the adhesive applying portion 22, a book cover adhering portion 60 wrapping the sheet bundle applied with an adhesive with the book cover and doing case work, and gripper mechanisms 53a, 53b for collecting an adhesive applying position of the sheet bundle before applying the adhesive.
