Device for removing liquid from a liquid container comprises a safety arrangement for showing the state of the level of the container and having a locking mechanism for allowing an inner tube (5) to slide into the transport and storage position only in the locked state. An unlocking element with a predetermined breaking point unlocks the locking mechanism when the inner tube slides into the transport and storage position and is deformed so that renewed sliding of the inner tube is prevented. Preferred Features: The locking mechanism has a bolt which pivots on the end of an outer tube (6) lying outside of the liquid container.
