METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PROVIDING IMAGE DATA EDITING FOR MOBILE COMMUNICATION TERMINAL

A method and a system for providing an image data edit function in a mobile communication terminal are provided to enable a server for providing an image data edit service to provide the image data edit service to the mobile communication terminal through a WAP(Wireless Application Protocol) gateway if a communication channel is allocated between the WAP gateway and the mobile communication terminal, thereby enabling users to edit an image data according to users' taste. A server for providing an image data edit service(112) is connected with the Internet(110) and provides the image data edit service to a mobile communication terminal(100) through a WAP(Wireless Application Protocol) gateway(108) if a communication channel is allocated between the WAP gateway(108) and the mobile communication terminal(100). The image data edit service includes the followings: an edit service which performs editing on server image data and/or terminal image data according to users' taste; a standby screen service which uses the server image data and/or the terminal image data, in which the editing is completed, as a standby screen during a call; a message transmitting service which appends a message to the server image data and/or the terminal image data and transmits the message to the mobile communication terminal of the other party; and a service for providing image data edit software, which enables the mobile communication terminal(100) to download the image data edit software capable of editing the server image data and/or the terminal image data even without interworking with the server for providing the image data edit service(112).
