PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge tube which can control an initial discharge delay and is excellent in frequency characteristics. SOLUTION: An airtight housing 16 is made by sealing airtight opening mouths of both ends of a case 12 with a pair of covers 14, 14 which also serve as electric discharge electrodes, and a discharge gas is filled in the airtight housing 16. An electric discharge gap 22 is created between an electric discharge electrode portions 18, 18 of the covers 14, 14, and a plurality of trigger discharge films 28, of which both the ends are positioned facing the covers 14, 14 with a fine discharge gap 26 between are formed on the inner wall 24 of the case 12. Furthermore, a layer 30 which contains a mixture of a cesium bromide and a magnesium oxide is formed on the surface of the discharge electrode 18. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
