PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the consumption of a lubricant by lengthening its service life, while securing excellent lubricity and cooling property of the lubricant. SOLUTION: When cold-rolling a metal sheet, the loss of a lubricant is reduced by circularly using a solution, prepared by diluting a water-soluble lubricant with water, as a coolant. Further, a non-water-soluble rolling oil or a water-soluble lubricant that is different from the above water-soluble lubricant used for the coolant is supplied at the inlet side of at least a part of rolling stands to supplement the lubricity, so that the lubricity required as a whole is secured.
