PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of safely and inexpensively treating dioxin contaminants at site in a normal temperature and a normal pressure. SOLUTION: In this dioxin contaminant treating method, in an original position where dioxin contaminants generate, a decomposing agent mainly consisting of inorganic powder having dioxin decomposing property is added to the contaminants at a normal temperature to reduce dioxin concentration to less than 3 ng-TEQ/g.
