PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a core for a pneumatic tire which eliminates the need for a special-purpose device for inserting the core into the interior of the tire, and which can be easily linked with a rim of an existing wheel only with a traditional rim-linking device. SOLUTION: The core for the pneumatic tire is provided with a plurality of core pieces 5 and a connection means 7 with flexible expansion and contraction. The core pieces 5 constitute an annular core body 3, and the connection means 7 connects the core pieces 5 to one another in a loop. Then the core piece 5 comprises a support part 9 and both leg parts 11, 13 crossing each other. The support part 9 supports the inner surface T1 of the tire at the time of run-flat traveling, and the leg parts 11, 13 support the support part 9 on the rim R.
