PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable chuck related to a transportation chucking device capable of gripping workpieces with shafts having different diameters, which variable chuck has a simple structure, and can be manufactured at a low cost, and can grip workpieces with shafts having different diameters and different lengths. SOLUTION: The variable chucking device is composed of a body case forming a body portion of the chucking device, a shaft support having a cylindrical portion for supporting the end surface of the shaft of the workpiece, an elastic body for elastically supporting the shaft support, a shaft clamp to be brought into pressure contact with the shaft portion of the workpiece by being elastically deformed, a plurality of clamp pins which radially slide in the holes provided in the body case and elastically deform shaft clamps, and pushing members which are arranged outside the body case and make a plurality of clamp pins slide in the radial direction.
