<p>This invention provides a hologram recording material that can efficiently modulate the refractive index with a visible light laser and is highly transparent even after the modulation. The hologram recording material is characterized by comprising (A) a polymer of a monomer comprising, as an indispensable component, an acrylvinyl monomer represented by formula CH<SUB>2</SUB>=C(R<SUP>1</SUP>)C(=O)O-R<SUP>2</SUP>=CH<SUB>2</SUB> wherein R<SUP>1</SUP> represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; and R<SUP>2</SUP> represents a saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms optionally containing a hetero atom or a halogen atom in its molecule, the polymer having a radical polymerizable side chain vinyl group in its molecule, and (B) a photopolymerization initiator source which generates an active species upon exposure to visible light. In particular, the photopolymerization initiator source (B) is a photopolymerization initiator, which absorbs visible light to generate active species, or a mixture of a visible light sensitizing coloring matter and a photopolymerization initiator.</p> |
