PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an EL element using polythiophene which uses a photoelectron functional material having especially little physical variation, photochemical variation, and electrochemical variation as a electron hole pouring transportation material or a light emitting material and has a variety of light emitting colors having high reliability and light emitting efficiency. SOLUTION: An EL element using polythiophene has an electron hole pouring transportation layer and a light emitting layer. The electron hole pouring transportation layer comprises at least one or more of polymer shown by chemical formula 1. In chemical formula 1, R3 and R4 represent hydrogen atom, aromatic hydrocarbon group, or aliphatic hydrocarbon group and may be identical or different. A ring may be formed by combining R3 and R4 with each other. X1 and X2 represent hydrogen atom or halogen atom and may be identical or different. N is 4 to 100. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
