PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an equi-magnification imaging optical system designed such that a depth range that allows an object to be imaged at an equal magnification is wide and its configuration is simple. SOLUTION: The equi-magnification imaging optical system has a plurality of imaging elements and images an object at an equal magnification. The plurality of imaging elements have an equal focal distance. The plurality of imaging elements are disposed at regular intervals so that light made incident on the optical system is passed through the imaging elements n times (n is an integer of 2 or more) before emitted from the optical system. Where the focal distance of the imaging elements is f and the magnification of an image formed with the light emitted from the optical system is Mn, the interval d between the imaging elements has a value that satisfies Mn= 1 or -1 and does not depend on L0.
