A method to determine differential porosity of footwear materials, in particular natural and imitation leather, provides for obtaining a leather sample as a circle of an area of 100 mm2 by means of a sharpened knife, impregnation thereof with an inert liquid, forcing the air through the sample under pressure with an excessive pressure up to 5?105 Pa formed on the internal side of the sample, experimental determination of kinetics of the square root from the pressure, graphical differentiating of this dependence, finding the area of filtering pores ?S in an interval of the radii of the pores ?r and calculating a differential function of the pores according to the radii f(r).
