PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize harmful heavy metals contained in waste such as ash produced by incinerating municipal garbage, slag, soil, sludge or shredder dust. SOLUTION: This waste treating material is powder contg. 40-60wt.% sodium iodide or potassium iodide based on the amt. of a porous inorg. adsorbent or an aq. soln. contg. 10-90wt.% sodium iodide or potassium iodide based on the solid content of sodium silicate or potassium silicate. The powder is added by 5-30 pts.wt. to 100 pts.wt. waste contg. harmful substances such as Cr, Pb, Zn, Cu, Ni, Cd and Hg. The aq. soln. is added by 0.4-12 pts.wt. (expressed in terms of solid). They are mixed after water is added if necessary. |
