PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceiling material for a vehicle which does not require an adhesive at all during sealing a felt to a core because of the employment of an ultrasonic welding process of the felt to the core, and can realize the consequent cost saving of the ceiling material for a vehicle as well as the labor and time spent for applying the adhesive. SOLUTION: In this manufacturing method, a base material 2 having an upper fiber layer 7, an upper barrier layer 8 and a base material 2 with an unwoven fabric 9 disposed on the upper surface of the core 3 in that order, are loaded on a base B and the felt 10 is placed on the base material 2. In addition, a horn H for ultrasonic welding is pushed way into the base material 2 to a specified depth from the upper surface of the felt 10, and the horn H is vertically vibrated with an ultrasonic wave. Thus the felt 10 is welded to the core 3 and the manufacturing cost of the ceiling material for a vehicle can be saved. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
