PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate stable, positive and negative pulse voltages. SOLUTION: A pulse generation device 10B is provided with a switch circuit 22, a rectification selection circuit 24, a detection circuit 181, an oscillator (OSC) 32, a pulse width modulator (PWM) 36, and a control circuit 34. A clock signal generated from the oscillator 32 is supplied to the pulse width modulator 34 and the control circuit 34. The pulse width modulator 34 synchronizes with the clock signal to generate a pulse width modulation signal (PWM signal) and to perform the ON/OFF control of the switch circuit 22. The pulse generation device 10B controls an input voltage using the pulse width modulator 34 and generates the stable, positive and negative pulse voltages using the rectification selection circuit 24.
