The wind energy plant has a tower head over an engine (5) and gear motors. The propelable wind direction adjusts the tower (1) with sliding bearing elements (9 - 11) which slide on a bearing ring (6). Part of the sliding bearing elements is usable as brake linings when pressed. The sliding bearing elements are usable for the movement of the tower head. The gear is turned by wind transmission (25) having a rigid inner spline bearing ring, which is fastened to the tower and a flexible, outer spline ring (22), which is connected with the gear.
