A mobile communication terminal with a dual-functional speaker is provided to enable a main modem of the terminal to output an audio signal through one audio output unit and to conduct control for processing the audio signal, thereby remarkably reducing an audio signal handling process that the main modem has to handle. A main modem(100) outputs an audio signal through one output port, and outputs a control signal for performing a receiver mode or an external speaker mode for the audio signal. A speaker(500) reproduces the inputted audio signal according to the control signal. A speaker amplifier(200) amplifies the outputted audio signal in output size for the external speaker mode. A discrete attenuator(300) is enabled by the control signal for performing the receiver mode, and attenuates the amplified audio signal in output size for the receiver mode through a discrete attenuation method. A variable attenuator(400) is enabled by the control signal for performing the receiver mode, and removes noise included in the attenuated audio signal through a variable attenuation method for setting the outputted audio signal to a reference signal, then outputs the signal to the speaker.
