Temperature sensor

A temperature sensor used to monitor coolant and an automobile coolant system. The temperature sensor includes a one-piece housing (12) having a sensor portion (14) and a connector portion (16). A sensor assembly, including a sensor (30) having a pair of terminals (46) connected thereto is disposed within the housing. The sensor portion includes a sensor tip (42) having a configuration conducive to improving thermal transfer from the coolant through the sensor tip to the sensor. A thermally conductive material may also be used to improve thermal or heat transfer to the sensor.
