Receiver apparatus with antenna diversity for digital MPSK-modulated radio signals for vehicles

A multiple phase shift keying (MPSK) demodulator evaluates the phase reference signals so that when phase reference signal that carries current reference phase related to reference signal occurs, the reference phase is updated in the receiver. The time interval between updates of the reference phase is set small so that the vehicle distance traveled is not greater than lambda /5. The antenna switching that is required because of predetermined criteria is locked out, with the exception of one time interval, in each instance, immediately before every update of the reference phase.
