PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for reforming slag for surely protecting a refractory by preventing the erosion of an immersion tube refractory used for metal refining furnace etc. SOLUTION: In the case that basicity of the slag is 1.2-1.7, before secondary refining treatment of steel is performed by adding Si alloy thereto, crushed material of a brick containing MgO as the main component, is added into the slag and the slag component is adjusted so as to become a primary crystal zone of MgO to prevent the elution of MgO in the refractory immersed into the slag. Further, in the case that basicity of the slag is <1.2, the crushed brick containing MgO as the main component and Al, are added into the slag. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
