摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply perform the correction in an instrument for measuring a raw material level in a blast furnace by utilizing electromagnetic wave under state of fitting the instrument to the blast furnace. SOLUTION: In the instrument A for measuring the raw material level in the blast furnace, with which the electromagnetic wave is radiated into the blast furnace B through a propagating tube 2 from an oscillator 1 and the distance from the oscillator 1 to the upper surface of the raw material C in the blast furnace is measured by receiving the reflective wave from the upper surface of the raw material C in the blast furnace; at a place on the way of the blast furnace B from the propagating tube 2, a mechanism which can insert/retreat a reflecting plate 3a for correcting, is arranged in the position separated from the oscillator 1 at not nearer than the distance L impossible to measure. At ordinary measuring time of the level, the reflecting plate 3a for correcting, is made to retreat, and at the correcting time, the reflecting plate 3a for correcting is inserted into the position on the way of the blast furnace B from the propagating tube 2 to perform the correcting treatment. As the reflecting plate 3a for correcting, a gate plate in a slide-type gate valve 3 is used, and the opening/closing operation of the slide-type gate valve 3 is performed with remote control.
