PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-reliability EL display device, and to provide an electronic device having a high-reliability display part by using such an El display device as the display part. SOLUTION: In this simple matrix type EL display device, a cover material 711 is stuck to a glass substrate 701 with an EL element formed thereon. Then, the glass substrate 701 and the cover material 711 are stuck to each other by interposing a filling material 710 functioning as an adhesive. A glass plate is used as the cover material 711. Since the EL element is completely sealed by the filling material 710 by this structure and is insulated from moisture or the like in the outside, the deterioration of an EL layer caused by oxidation can be prevented.
