<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce failures in reading in a music data file from storage media. <P>SOLUTION: In this electronic music device, when a plurality of music data (voice data) files Vf (Vf1 to Vfn) wherein music data used to generate a musical sound signal like user voice data are described are stored in an arbitrary storage medium 14B, a guide information (library data) file Lf (Ld1 to Ldn) wherein absolute paths Pa and relative paths Pr of the respective data files Vf1 to Vfn are described is previously stored in the storage-destination storage medium 14B. When a desired music data file Vfi (1≤i≤n) is read in, the music data file Vfi is searched for first with absolute path Pa of the guide information file Lf.
