PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a single sign-on system for abandoning a server exclusive for authentication, and for reducing the load of the authentication processing of a user. SOLUTION: The single sign-on system is configured, by connecting a user terminal through a network to a plurality of server devices managing a predetermined Web site. The server device is provided with a means, which when receiving an access request from the user terminal that does not hold an account, acquires the account of the user terminal from another server device which has already authenticated the user terminal, and permits access to the user terminal.
