<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide PPS (polyphenylene sulfide) paper of good grade suppressing coarse voids or pinholes which are disadvantages of the conventional PPS paper in the paper and to provide a tow and a staple fiber strand, pulp and a liquid dispersion composed of PPS nano-fibers suitable as a raw material therefor. <P>SOLUTION: The specific tow is composed of a polyphenylene sulfide nano-fiber aggregate in which the average diameter of single fibers is 1-1,500 nm and the ratio of the single fibers having 1,500-5,000 nm diameter is 0-5%. The staple fiber strand is obtained from the tow and has 0.1-30 mm fiber length of the fibers. The pulp has >1 to ≤30 wt% of fiber concentration in the pulp. The liquid dispersion has ≥0.00001 to ≤1 wt% of the fiber concentration in the liquid dispersion. The paper has an area of coarse voids having ≥10 μm length and ≥10 μm side and accounting for ≤5% in the cross section of the paper based on the cross-sectional area of the paper. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
