PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire having small heat generation at the time of run flat traveling and high run flat durability. SOLUTION: This tire has a pair of bead parts 1, a pair of side wall parts 2, and a tread part 3 continuous to both the side wall parts 2. The tire is provided with a carcass 4 comprising one sheet or more of carcass plies toroidally extended between the pair of bead parts 1 to reinforce each of the bead parts 1 and a pair of side reinforcing rubber layers 5 arranged at the inside of the carcass 4 of the side wall parts 2. The carcass ply is made by coating the reinforcing cord with coating rubber. As the coating rubber, a rubber composition having tangent loss (tanδ) of≤0.12 at the time of 1% distortion at 25°C is applied, and/or a rubber composition having tangent loss (tanδ) of≤0.15 at the time of 1% distortion at 25°C is applied.
