PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for stably applying solid lubricant from the initial stage and with lapse of time, also, applying the lubricant of high quality at a low cost. SOLUTION: In the lubricant applying apparatus, the solid lubricant A72 is directly applied on a surface to be coated, or indirectly applied by using an applying member. The lubricant applying apparatus includes an urging member A73 for urging the solid lubricant to the surface to be coated or to the applying member. The energizing roughly satisfies a condition of k=a×cosθ(k denotes spring constant [mN/mm], a denotes the consumption constant [mN/mm] of the solid lubricant andθdenotes a pressurization angle [rad]).
