PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for rapidly and easily inspecting the quality of a filter element. SOLUTION: This device comprises a tubular duct body 11, a porous member 12 disposed on an upper part of the duct body 11, a cover member 15 having an opening 15a with its size corresponding to that of an outlet surface portion of a filter element E, an air exhaust means allowing the volume of a gas flowing through the duct body 11 to be arbitrarily set, and a differential pressure gauge 19 with the filter element E placed thereon for measuring a pressure loss of the filter element E when air is let flow through the duct body 11 by the exhaust means. This device is characterized by being equipped with an evaluation means for evaluating the quality of the filter element based on a measured value on the pressure loss of the filter element E measured by the pressure gauge 19 and a warning means for issuing a warning based on the result of the evaluation made by the evaluation means.
