PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic radial tire capable of improving steering stability and riding comfortability especially in high speed travelling while reducing tire weight. SOLUTION: This pneumatic radial tire is furnished with a carcass consisting of a ply of a radially arranged cord extending in a toroid form between a pair of bead parts and a belt consisting of more than two belt layers arranged on the outside in the diametrical direction of a crown part of this carcass, at least one layer of the belt layers is made of a cord of two pieces of filament bundles constituted of poly-ketone fiber, and the cord constitutes its characteristic feature that a 49N elastic modulus E(cN/dtex) of 25°C and 177°C thermal contraction stressσ(cN/dtex) satisfies following expressions (I):σ≥-0.01E+1.2, and (II):σ≥0.02.
