PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an OCR device for reducing time and labor for confirming an OCR processing result to be acquired after optical character recognition (hereinafter called as OCR) processing and an OCR result confirmation method. SOLUTION: This OCR device 10 is provided with an operation part 11 for receiving an input operation such as the designation of a range to be confirmed, a display part 12 for visually presenting information, an optical character recognition processing part 14 for generating new character information by reflecting the evaluation result of the accuracy of optical character recognition on character information acquired by executing the optical character recognition processing of image information stored so as to be readable, an OCR processing part 14 for generating new character information by adding the evaluation result of the accuracy of the OCR on the character information obtained by executing the OCR processing of the image information, a voice converting part 15 for generating voice information by evaluating the accuracy of the OCR processing result from the new character information generated by the OCR processing part 14, a voice outputting part 16 for outputting the acquired voice information by voice and a control part 17 for controlling the operation part 11, the display part 12, a scanner part 13, the OCR processing part 14, the voice data converting part 15 and the voice output part 16.
