<p>The invention relates to a method for transmitting high-speed digital signals and a DC signal over the same physical transmission line interconnecting two devices; the high-speed signals are transmitted in both directions (bi-directional), at the same time (full-duplex) and on the same bandwidth. At the transmit side the digital signal is properly multilevel encoded, converted into an analog signal, filtered and amplified before being sent over the cable. At the receive side the upstream and downstream signals are first sampled, then digitally isolated one from the other and the resulting signal is digitally equalized and properly multistage decoded.</p> |
