<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a silyl compound having an Si-O bond in the molecule by reacting a fluorosilane compound having an Si-F bond in the molecule with a hydroxy compound having a hydroxy group in the molecule. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing the silyl compound represented by formula (3): A-O-SiR<SP>1</SP>R<SP>2</SP>R<SP>3</SP>involves reacting a fluorosilane compound represented by formula (1): R<SP>1</SP>R<SP>2</SP>R<SP>3</SP>SiF with a hydroxy compound represented by formula (2):A-OH in the presence of a heterocyclic compound having basicity.
