PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an algae proofing composition safe for organisms and preventing growth of algae, water-bloom, etc., in various kinds of water tanks, water storage tanks, etc., of cooling towers over a long period. SOLUTION: The algae proofing composition is composed of a molded product containing a mixture of a zinc compound with an organic acid. In the algae proofing composition, the zinc compound is one or more kinds selected from the group consisting of zinc oxide, zinc sulfate, zinc chloride and zinc nitrate.
