<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airbag system capable of being downsized, and expanding/inflating an airbag toward a predetermined proper position. <P>SOLUTION: An opening 34 is provided on a part covering the airbag 31, and a cover 35 is arranged on the opening 34 so as to open/close. When the possibility of collision is estimated by the detection of a pre-crash sensor, the cover 35 is released by an opening/closing motor 37, thereby forming the opening 34 at a part covering the airbag 31.
