<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a toner supply device capable of preventing an image density decrease caused right after toner cartridge replacement, and also preventing an erroneous alarm caused by delay in toner detection. <P>SOLUTION: After a fresh toner cartridge 12 is attached to a reserve tank 14 due to cartridge replacement, a control section 50 drives a cartridge motor 20 and a reserve tank motor 40. This reduces time needed for toner supplied to the reserve tank 14 from the toner cartridge 12 to accumulate to a level near a toner sensor 42 within the tank.
