PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a floating toy which enables even younger persons to enjoy its buoyancy by facilitating control of them without requiring a high level technique nor the use of a device such as a remote controller. SOLUTION: A horizontal rotary blade 2 is disposed on the top surface of the body 1 of the toy while a sensor 15 for monitoring a distance between the body 1 of the toy and a landing surface on its bottom surface. A control part 16 is so arranged as to increase the number of revolutions of the horizontal rotary blade 2 for a prescribed time when the distance between the body 1 of the toy and the landing surface monitored with the sensor 15 becomes less than a prescribed value so that the body 1 of the toy ascends with the increase in the number of revolutions.
