PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide aΣΔtype A-D converter to obtain each desired noise shape characteristic corresponding to two communication systems avoiding an increase in occupied area and the consumption power of a circuit. SOLUTION: A semiconductor integrated circuit for communication (RF-IC) containing theΣΔtype A-D converter including integrating apparatuses (12 and 14) to integrate a signal feedback-signaled by an input signal; a quantizer (15) to quantize the integrated signal; and local D-A converters (16 and 17) to feedback the quantized signals by D-A conversion changes the number of comparators capable of operating by a value set in a register, among the comparators (CMP1 to CMP7) to construct the quantizer according to the communication systems.
