<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of preventing the quality deterioration of printed matters by inhibiting image formation on the second side of a recording material when an image position on the first side of the recording material is deviated in forming images on both the first and the second sides. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus capable of forming images on both the first and the second sides 20a, 20b of a recording material 20, an end part line 121 expressing the end part of an image forming area formed on an image forming area of the first side 20a and a center line 122 expressing the center of the image are detected by a detection means 101, and in forming an image on the second side 20b, a control part 10 for performing image formation executes end part correction and image center correction of the recording material 20 as the image correction of the second side 20b in accordance with the positional relation of the first side 20a. When the end part line position and center line position of the first side 20a of the recording material which are detected by the detection means 101 are preset thresholds F1, F2 and more, image formation on the second side 20b of the recording material is inhibited. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
