<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new and improved carried electrode catalyst and a manufacturing method of the catalyst with high catalytic activity, a uniform distribution of an active component, an easy manufacturing method and capable of reducing adverse effects on the environment. <P>SOLUTION: The carried electrode catalyst of poisoning-proof of carbon monoxide for a cation exchange membrane type fuel cell (PEMFC) is such that a carrier includes a carried PtAu-M<SB>x</SB>O<SB>y</SB>(x=1, 2 or 3, Y=1, 2, 3 or 4), weight content of Pt is 5 to 60 weight % among the total weight of the carried electrode catalyst, weight content of Au is 0.01 to 10 weight %, weight content of M<SB>x</SB>O<SB>y</SB>is 0.1 to 20 weight %, M is one ore more of transition metals selected from Fe, Al, Si, Ti, Zr, Mn, Ce and Co. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
