PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten TTFF efficiently. SOLUTION: This method for acquiring a plurality of GPS signals necessary for positioning includes a search step wherein the GPS signal is searched for in the first range, and in the case where the GPS signal cannot be acquired even when search in the first range is executed in a prescribed number of times, GPS signal is searched for in the second range wider than the first range, and a search range is widened stepwise by repeating this operation. The method to be adopted also includes a determination step for determining whether the situation is shifted to a state capable of acquiring the GPS signal or not, and a starting step for finishing the search step and starting from the beginning when determined that the situation is shifted to the state capable of acquiring the GPS signal.
