The device has plates (10, 12) comprising respective holes disposed such that the plates contact each other, when the plates are rotated around a fold (14). An elastic thread (20) passes in the holes and is fixed at fixation points (22, 24) of the respective plates (10, 12). A segment of the thread has a length between the sum of distances between the points (22, 24) and the holes respectively. An independent claim is also included for a sun visor comprising a flat plate restoration device.
