The technique for generating the omphalos in umbilical hernia repair comprises the transverse cut of the skin with the dissection of the navel, the separation of the hernial sac, umbilical herniorrhaphy, the umbilical hernia repair using dublicature of the aponeurosis of the external oblique muscle of abdomen with the fixation of the mesh above the dublicature of the aponeurosis, and layer-by-layer suturing of the wound. In the projection of the dissected navel, two cutaneous Donatti sutures are applied involving the mesh with the attached dublicature of the aponeurosis into the suture. Laterally on the right and on the left from the generated omphalos the skin wound is sewed by the Donatti sutures without the involvement of the attached dublicature of the aponeurosis into the suture.
