摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sorting method of optical quartz capable of detecting a change in refractive index of high precision of a 10<SP>-6</SP>order as a change in transmittance of a several % order in an infrared rigion of 3,000-3,600 cm<SP>-1</SP>and enabling measurement high in S/N ratio by simpler in treatment or preparation before measurement because measurement can be performed even if using a thin test sample with a slightly lower in surface finish precision as compared with the one in a conventional method for measuring directly the homogeneity of a refractive index itself. <P>SOLUTION: In sorting quartz, of which the homogeneity of a refractive index in a visible region is high, as a high precision optical part, the variation of the coefficient of absorption due to impurities or transmittance is measured by utilizing that the refractive index in the visible region is correlated with the coefficient of absorption due to impurities in a infrared region.
