PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid jet head which can prevent a crack from being caused in a liquid channel of a channel forming substrate to the utmost. SOLUTION: A channel unit comprises a channel forming substrate wherein a channel part serving as an ink channel is formed, a nozzle plate wherein a nozzle opening is opened, and an elastic plate where an area corresponding to a pressure chamber is elastically deformed depending on the operation of a pressure generating element. In the channel unit, the nozzle plate is joined to one side of the channel forming substrate, and the elastic plate is joined to the other side, so that a series of ink channels leading to the nozzle opening through the pressure chamber from a common ink chamber can be formed. In the channel forming substrate, a dummy channel part 44 not involved in the ejection of an ink droplet is juxtaposed with the channel part 40 in the state of being isolated from the channel part 40. A cut part 45, which is tapered toward the outside of the channel forming substrate, is provided at its end in a direction orthogonal to the direction wherein the dummy channel part 44 is juxtaposed with the channel part.
