<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an architecture of a storage system having high scalability, having little unevenness of performance, and having high fault tolerance, and to provide a control method therefor. <P>SOLUTION: This storage system connected to a host computer has four or more nodes. Each node has: a host interface connected to the host computer communicating with the host computer, and a switch communicating with the host interface.
