PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform stable imaging by reducing a burden imposed on a subject when the subject's arm is retained in a fixed posture for capturing an echo image of a blood vessel. SOLUTION: This blood vessel echo image pickup apparatus Ms capturing the echo image of a prescribed blood vessel in an arm part 3 of the subject 1 is characterized in having an image processor 10 for capturing the echo image of the prescribed blood vessel, a probe fixing device 13 fixing an echo probe 11 to a prescribed site of the subject's arm, an upper arm retainer part 30 having an elbow receiving part 33 receiving an elbow 5 of the subject in its bottom part and retaining the upper arm 4 of the subject in a prescribed tilt angle, a wrist retainer part 40 retaining the wrist 7 of the subject, and a grip part 50 positioned in front of the wrist retainer part and being gripped with hand fingers 8 of the subject.
