The tool (99) has a basic rolling body (101) to be swiveled around its longitudinal axis (100) and two rolling elements (102a,102b) positioned radial at a distance from the main body (101) and opposite each other. An angle sensor (103) is either attached to or accommodated inside the rolling tool (99) to be used for measuring the swivel angle of the main body (101) around the longitudinal axis (100) referring to the resting position. The obtained data can be used for a determination of the width of the groove (3a,3b) created with the tool (99) at the crankshaft bearing (2).
