PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-luminous flat display device in which an electrode making good use of an excellent performance of a nanomaterial electron source can be formed easily and at a low cost by using a coating process generally used. SOLUTION: In the self-luminous flat display device; two electrodes out of a cathode electrode CLC, a gate electrode GLC, and a focusing gate electrode FGL are formed on a same surface of a back substrate SUB1 adjacent to each other. This electrode structure is stacked in plural stages whereby the number of steps of the printing process for forming the respective electrodes can be decreased and an alignment accuracy in forming the electrode structure can be largely alleviated. Further, by forming the cathode electrode CLC and the gate electrode GLC using a same material which contains carbon nanotubes, the alignment accuracy in forming the electrode structure can be largely alleviated. Accordingly, it is possible to manufacture a self-luminous flat display device easily and at a low cost by using a printing coating process or the like which is generally used.
